Five Classic Mega Man Games Join the Nintendo Switch Online Library

Good news, Mega Man mega fans! The five classic Game Boy Mega Man games have joined the Nintendo Switch Online library. As of today, you can dive into Mega Man: Dr. Wily’s Revenge, Mega Man II, Mega Man III, Mega Man IV, and Mega Man V.

In a recent Nintendo Switch Online update, Nintendo confirmed the addition of these beloved titles. Mega Man: Dr. Wily’s Revenge, Mega Man II, Mega Man III, Mega Man IV and Mega Man V. The first of these handheld adventures, originally hit the Game Boy in 1991. Each game brings its unique twist on the Mega Man saga, blending nostalgic charm with challenging gameplay.

Mega Man’s journey on Nintendo platforms began in 1987, and now, the Game Boy entries have landed on the Switch. Mega Man: Dr. Wily’s Revenge combines elements from the first two NES titles. Following this, Mega Man II mixes Mega Man 2 and 3, while Mega Man III includes elements from Mega Man 3 and 4. The trend continues with Mega Man IV, and Mega Man V finally stands alone.

Mega Man: Dr. Wily’s Revenge:

Dr. Wily is out for revenge and this time he’s created his own “Mega Man Killer”! MEGA MAN V:

The five Game Boy entries are known in Japan as Rockman World 1-5. These games are not direct ports of the NES titles but share many similarities, especially in boss battles. All but Mega Man II were developed by Minakuchi Engineering and received positive reviews. However, Mega Man II was developed by Japan System House and was the least favourite of co-designer Keiji Inafune.

The standard membership also includes separate libraries of NES and SNES games.
